I want to parse the body of specific email messages, and use a text string from said body in an external program.

Can this or any other Thunderbird extension/add-on facilitate this?

If ever I can be of service to you; contact me at once.

I wish for you a truly extraordinary day …

Hi Mike,

This is a frequently requested feature, but I don't believe any extensions currently do this.

The issue is that there is a missing key feature in the Mozilla base code, to pipe a stream to an external program. EnigMail has its own implementation of that, and I have considered trying to use theirs.
