"Porting" FiltaQuilla to Postbox?

Hi,

I love FiltaQuilla, but I switched from Thunderbird to Postbox (which is based on Thunderbird). Are you considering changing your extension to support it Postbox as well? There are already some Extension ported: http://postbox-inc.com/extensions/

A Dev said porting is easy (maybe just changing the install.rdf), but I think there will be some minor modifications on the code to be made, too… (the filter dialog looks a bit different from the Thunderbird one). The Documentation for Devs is nonexistent, but there is the Dom-Inspector and they are offering EMail Support for Developers (http://getsatisfaction.com/pos…..tification)

So, what do you think?

bye

Andreas

The issue is that FiltaQuilla, like all of my extensions, relies on code that was recently added to the Mozilla mailnews backend. Thunderbird 3.0, and SeaMonkey 2.0, have the newer backend. I've looked at the public code that Postbox has released, and it is based on an earlier version of Mozilla mailnews. Perhaps at some point in the future they will upgrade to a more recent version, but until they do there is nothing that I can do to port my extensions, including FiltaQuilla, to Postbox.

Hmm. I came here for the same issue. I will contact the Postbox devs to ask them about their timetable to implement the new backend.

Since we have now the year 2012 and hopefully some backend code has changed, do you have some plans to release a FiltaQuilla version for Postbox? I'm interessted in the "Do not notify" option for message filters.

I checked the PostBox code a few weeks ago, and the comment that I made earlier in this thread is still true. That is, FiltaQuilla relies on changes to the TB backend that were done many years ago, that PostBox has not decided to incorporate. So I cannot do FiltaQuilla for PostBox.
