2013.09.15:
Suddently Tonequilla is not compatible with Thunderbird? I really rely on it to announce e-mail messages! It was working yesterday ... This is a Fedora 19 64 bit XFCE box if that matters.

I appreciate your work, thank you,

Bob

I have received several other reports of this. I am assuming that what you are seeing is Thunderbird reporting that Tonequilla is not compatible with version 17.0.8. This is not valid, nothing has changed to make it incompatible.

This is some sort of glitch in the Mozilla Addons update site, as the compatibility for Tonequilla that is set there is for Thunderbird versions 3 - 24. Update information on installed addons is obtained from their site. But I tested this, and could not reproduce the problem.

I've prepared a version of the addon which is identical to the released version, but where the specified compatibility in the addon file includes Thunderbird 17 and 24. You can download that file from:

http://mesquilla.net/releases/.....-24compat).xpi

I'm not sure what will happen if you download and install this. I am guessing and hoping that this will fix the problem for you, but since I don;t really know the root cause, nor can I reproduce it, I am not sure.

But please give it a try and tell me the result.

No there was no indication that it was incompatible other than there being no announcements, messages with filters using Tonequilla were being dumped into Inbox instead of the usual sub directories, and there was a notice in the thunderbird email filter edit GUI that the application was missing, I forget the exact words.

I removed 17.0.8 and replaced it with 17.0.6 and all was happiness and light again. This morning when yum updating I excluded Thunderbird to keep things working or it would have been updated again to the 17.0.8.

I can test in VMware tomorrow. I don't want to lose it on this computer right now and will try as you suggest.

Thanks,

Bob

I installed Tonequilla in Thunderbird 17.0.8 on Fedora-19/64/
xfce in VMware and it seems to work as expected. Perhaps I had a corrupted Thunderbird 17.0.8. Can't explain it any other way if no one else was complaining it has to be me.

Sorry if I wasted your time on this. Should have tried a VM first, but the way it happened caught me off guard, it had been working and when it quit I thought the yum update of Thunderbird was the cause.

Thanks,

Bob

As I said there have been a few reports of this, but nothing reproducible. At this point in time, since Thunderbird has now gone to version 24.0, I am inclined to ignore this issue unless it also appears in Thunderbird 24.0 (I use ToneQuilla successfully under version 24.0 myself).
